Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says Cassius Mailula could be the next big thing in South African football if he continues on his current trajectory.

Already there have been comparisons in terms of quality made by his coach Rulani Mokwena and now Kekana has joined the young coach in waxing lyrical about Mailula.
In just nine games, the 21-year-old has catapulted to eight goals, which has left many, including Kekana impressed.
"I think in this present moment he is on the right track of trying to give performances every match that he plays. Of course, the hyping part is up to the media and how they talk about him. We are talking about a young player who needs to be guided properly in that space because one big article can destroy a poor kid," Kekana told journalists at the Carling Black Label Cup FIFA World Cup score predictor in Sandton.
"I see how he plays, I like how he applies himself in matches, I like his attitude. If he stays true to the process, I think he can be a big thing in South Africa if he works extra hard.
"He has got an eye for goal, we all saw in the last four matches that he played, exciting and you can tell that the kid is enjoying to play football, so with the hype, I cannot control that. It's up to him how he accepts and takes that, of course he is a good player without a doubt," Kekana said of the young star.
