Is There A Conspiracy Against Sundowns?

Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, the Cameroonian-born legend emphasized that the Brazilians are simply reaping the challenges of competing at the highest level across multiple tournaments.

"No conspiracy. I personally don't believe so. Yes, such things happen in football but in the Sundowns case I don't think there is anyone trying to sabotage them. It's because you are involved in many competitions. You have to play in cup games locally and internationally and that's why you are bound to have such a tight schedule. I don't believe there is any conspiracy against Mamelodi Sundowns," Feutmba told the Siya crew.

The Sundowns icon added that the demanding fixture schedule requires both the players and the technical team to adopt a "big team mentality" and rise to the challenges.

"Yes, it's too demanding. For the technical team, it's too challenging but they have to understand why that happens. It's because they are playing in too many competitions. When you are a big team like Sundowns it becomes difficult. Those are the challenges of the best teams. You must overcome them as the best team. You should have very strong people from management to the technical team up to the players. And I know most of the players are used to that. It's their job. And they are doing a great job," Feutmba added.

Sundowns' relentless schedule continued after the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with a 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup quarters on Friday, followed by a 1-0 win against Esperance de Tunis in the first leg of their CAF Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday. They now prepare for the return leg next week in Tunis, aiming to maintain their winning momentum.
