Dillon Sheppard's horrific injury that threatened to end his career prematurely has been described by a former Mamelodi Sundowns player as the scariest moment of his career.
During his time with Sundowns in 2007, Sheppard suffered a leg break in the game against Free State Stars after an incident involving then Ea Lla Koto defender James Matola.
The thought of what happened on the day as Sheppard went down in serious pain with a broken leg still sends shivers down Sandile 'AK' Ndlovu's spine because of the severity of the injury.
Ndlovu was Sheppard's teammate at the time and remembers the incident very well.
"Eish Dillon Sheppard's injury without a doubt is the scariest moment I have ever came accross in football. When I saw him break his leg like that I was very scared. I was shocked. Eish...even now as I speak about it I can't help myself but feeling it as if I am seeing it again," said Ndlovu.
