Lucas Suarez returned to the Sundowns' starting line-up for the first time since the loss to Orlando Pirates last month, while Marcelo Allende returned from suspension and took the place of Arthur Sales.

The visitors only needed 10 minutes to get the breakthrough as Iqraam Rayners was given time and space to find the top corner with a superb strike, taking his league tally to 14 goals.

In doing so, Rayners has moved level with teammate Lucas Ribeiro at the top of the Golden Boot chart.

Chippa, meanwhile, were second best for most of the half but they did remain a threat on the counter, with Giovanni Philander causing a few problems down the left flank.

Sundowns went in search of more goals in the latter stages of the first half, but the Chippa defence and goalkeeper Darren Johnson were alert to any threats in the final third.

Sundowns had the ball in the back of the net for a second time ten minutes after the break through Rayners' strike, although the linesman's flag did go up for offside despite replays showing the striker was onside.

Chippa responded with a double change as Abram Mashele came on for his first team debut while Ronaldo Maarman was also introduced, with Malebogo Modise and Papama Tyongwana making way. Meanwhile, Sundowns threw on Peter Shalulile and Arthur Sales at the same time.

Sundowns charges made the difference as Sales bagged his seventh league goal on 69 minutes when his cross caught out Johnson and sailed into the far corner, handing the visitors' a two-goal advantage.

The visitors went on to bag a third goal with a minute left on the clock when Johnson gave the ball straight to Sales, who took one touch and calmly slotted home to round off a big win, which has sealed the title with a game to spare.
