With Mamelodi Sundowns having a busy schedule in December, there are players who are working hard to give head coach Rulani Mokwena a selection headache.
Sundowns, who were beaten 1-0 by TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League group stages over the weekend, will be back in domestic action when they take on AmaZulu in the Premiership at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium this evening.

Currently top of the standings, Sundowns have an opportunity to extend their lead at the summit to five points and make it 10 wins in a row in the league this season. Mokwena could rotate his squad yet again, with a number of players recently raising their hands for a spot in the team.
Against SuperSport United last week, Lebohang Maboe was one of the stand out performers in the middle of the park and is slowly making a case for a regular spot in the team, though competition in that department is far tighter than all the others.
Sphelele Mkhulise is another who has given Mokwena a few things to think about when selecting his team, while Terrence Mashego at left back is making a strong case for a regular spot in the starting line-up, especially with the Africa Cup of Nations around the corner.
The left back position has been a bit of a problem for Bafana Bafana and Mashego was a regular in Hugo Broos' side before making a move to Sundowns. Now that he is getting an opportunity to play a bit more at Sundowns, he will be hoping to impress just in time to get into the team.

At the back, in Mothobi Mvala's absence, Brian Onyango is raising his hand for a regular spot in the team. With Mokwena rotating his squad, these players could get another opportunity to impress against Usuthu this evening.
