Latest: Is The Appollis Chiefs Deal Still On The Cards?

The Siya crew has been led to believe that a deal for a Bafana Bafana midfielder to Kaizer Chiefs is still on the cards, as the Soweto giants continue to work behind the scenes to bolster their squad.

Amakhosi are set to return from Turkey this week to finalise their preparations for the new campaign, with the Toyota Cup up next this Sunday in the Free State. They will take on Tanzanian giants Young Africans, with the intention of unveiling new players in front of their supporters.

One of the players Amakhosi are determined to get on board is Polokwane City midfielder Oswin Appollis and indications are that the Soweto giants are looking good to get a deal over the line.

Appollis attracted the interest of Amakhosi with his performances from the 2023/24 campaign with Rise and Shine, as well as Bafana Bafana as he established himself as an important player for Hugo Broos. He may not have started many matches in the national team, but he has shown his ability to rise to the occasion when given the opportunity to feature.

Amakhosi are in the market for an attacking midfielder and indications are that Nasreddine Nabi is in favour of bringing Appollis on board for the upcoming campaign.

It's understood that the player is definitely interested in making the move to Gauteng from Limpopo, to take his football to the next level.

Amakhosi, meanwhile, are expected to unveil Rushwin Dortley this weekend, after the player's former club Cape Town Spurs confirmed that he is joining the Soweto giants.
