Kaizer Chiefs are facing a growing injury crisis, with several key players sidelined as the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season progresses. And now, the situation has taken a turn for the worse, with a key player added to the injury woes.

Ahead of their match against Polokwane City on Sunday, the club confirmed that Dillan Solomons is recovering from a hamstring injury, while Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is nursing a hip injury. Both players are expected to return in 3-4 weeks, offering some hope for the squad's depth.

The situation, however, has taken a turn for the worse, as Chiefs' injury woes continue to mount.

Defender Given Msimango has also been ruled out due to a recent bout of illness, adding to the club's list of unavailable players. But perhaps the most concerning development came during Chiefs' 2-0 loss to Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon.

Left-back Bradley Cross suffered a horror injury after a rough challenge from Polokwane's Thabang Matuludi. After the match, Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi revealed that Cross could be sidelined for up to two months, further depleting an already stretched defensive line.

The loss of Cross is a major blow for Amakhosi, as he has been a key figure in the team's defence. This injury comes on the heels of a long-term setback for midfielder Edson Castillo, who also suffered a serious injury earlier in the season. With these multiple injuries, Chiefs are facing a tough challenge, as they struggle to maintain squad balance and consistency.

Coach Nabi, already working with a limited squad, now faces the daunting task of managing these setbacks while trying to steer the team through a demanding December fixture list with TS Galaxy and Chippa United up next for Amakhosi.
