How Chiefs Are Helping Chivaviro With Fan Criticism

How Chiefs Are Helping Chivaviro With Fan Criticism

Ranga Chivaviro of Kaizer Chiefs celebrates goal during the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup match between SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane on 19 October 2024

Ranga Chivaviro is supported to keep improving for Kaizer Chiefs in the team's resurgence this season, the Siya crew has been informed.

Chivaviro has been one of the influential players for Amakhosi under coach Nasreddine Nabi, having already scored two goals in three appearances in the Betway Premiership.

The 31-year-old was on the score sheet again this past weekend as Chiefs won 4-0 against SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout to advance to the quarter-finals where they will meet Mamelodi Sundowns.

Nabi is a big fan of Chivaviro and has previously said that he had tried to sign the burly striker during his time as the coach of Young Africans in Tanzania.

After the match against SuperSport on Saturday night, the coach revealed that he told Chivaviro he would score in the second half to make up for his miss in the first half.

In certain moments of the match, Chivaviro had some sections of the fans on his case after he failed to put away some of the chances he got in the first half.

The forward was visibly frustrated at the end end and he showed it with his celebration of hand gestures as if to say that the fans were talking too much when he finally scored Chiefs' third goal in the convincing victory.

"Ranga is fine, and he will be ready for the next match. These things happen and he is now fine after what happened on Saturday. It was in the heat of the moment, but he is a big boy, and the club is supporting him, and that's the most important thing," said the source.

"He's got a coach who believes in him, and that for a player is very important to help you improve your game. His focus is on helping the team to win games. He is working on improving his game and to score goals, and that's the most important thing," the source added.
