As Fiston Mayele’s contract approaches its end in June next year, Pyramids FC are now understood to be taking action that will make it difficult for the likes of Kaizer Chiefs to sign him.
Sources close to the situation have indicated that Pyramids FC are determined to retain their striker amidst growing interest from Amakhosi and other clubs.

The sources added that the Egyptian club is proposing a new deal which will extend Mayele’s stay at Pyramids until June 2028.
"They are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him. So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second source stated that despite the Egyptian club’s efforts to tie him down, Chiefs have not been deterred in their pursuit of the prolific forward. Pyramids' tactic may be to increase the transfer fee they could get for him from abroad.

"Whether Pryamids are offering him a new two-year deal or not, Chiefs have made him their top target for next season after failing to sign him this season. So, although it's believed that his team are offering him a new deal, Chiefs are still interested in signing him," the second source revealed.
The former Young Africans SC star has been an important player for Pyramids FC. The 30-year-old forward has netted a fair amount of goals, and impressed when his team drew against Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg in South Africa. Mayele scored a goal and took his chance well but it was ruled out for offside by VAR.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Pyramids FC for comment on Mayele's future but had not received a response by the time of publishing.
