SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has seemingly taken a jab at Thatayaone Ditlhokwe for what is happening in his career following his move to Kaizer Chiefs.
At the end of the 2022/23 season, Ditlhokwe left SuperSport for Chiefs to end his three-year stay in Tshwane despite interest from Gavin Hunt's side to keep him.

Before leaving, the defender signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi halfway through the campaign as his original contract with SuperSport entered the last six months, ruling out a possibility for him to extend the deal with Matsatsantsa.
Following the confirmation of Ditlhokwe's pre-contract with Chiefs early last year, Matthews said he knew in November 2022 already that the player wouldn't be staying with them, judging on how their negotiations were going.
Speaking to journalists during the club's announcement of ACDC Express as their new sleeve sponsor, Matthews seemed to be taking a jab on Ditlhokwe after Chiefs recently signed Rushwin Dortley who plays in the same position.
"I lost TT (Ditlhokwe), my first 'dumb' in 25 years. And unfortunately, it was a pure numbers 'dumb', because I just couldn't match the numbers that he wanted. But look at what Chiefs have done now, they've gone and bought Dortley to play right where TT plays," said Matthews.

"So, life is as interesting for players when they make choices, and they do things. I have to be true to my football club, I have to be true to my board, I have to be true to my budget, I have to be true to my head coach even when I disagree. I disagree with Gavin every day. There's no person on earth that I fight with more than Gavin. Gavin has saved my marriage because I never fight with my wife," Matthews added.
