Kaizer Chiefs have issued a statement on social media in response to news circulating online that the club will be hosting open trials.

On Friday morning, the DStv Premiership giants hit back after false information about the club's open-door policy spread online.
In the fake images that have gone viral on social media, players interested in joining Chiefs' esteemed academy are asked to arrive at the club with identification pictures and to make payments into a bank account.

Amakhosi have since moved to urge fans to pay attention to online scams such as these.
"Please note that these posters/documents are fake including the others circulating online or via WhatsApp," the statement on X (formerly Twitter) said.
"We do not host open trials at the Kaizer Chiefs Village. We have Scouts that identify talent. Some of these kids are invited to the Village for assessments with the hope of joining our Youth Development Academy should they meet our criteria.
"If you see a bank account number on a post about Kaizer Chiefs trials, instructions to send instant money to a cellphone number, or the use of a Gmail account, then this should alert you that it is fake!
"If you suspect that you are being scammed or you need clarity on any trial post linked to Kaizer Chiefs please contact us on 0119411465 or info@kaizerchiefs.com."
