Kaizer Chiefs may have a long list of candidates to take over their head coaching role next season; however, that list does not include Mamelodi Sundowns' senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi, for now, according to his agent Mike Makaab.

For the last two seasons, Mngqithi's name has been mentioned amongst the possible names for the vacant Chiefs job.
It is understandable why as Mngqithi has seen a change in his fortunes at Mamelodi Sundowns, where there was uncertainty about his contract situation, especially after the club's technical team reshuffle a year ago.
In addition, Mngqithi has the pedigree to coach at the highest level and has proved to be a serial winner in his decade-long spell at the Brazilians.
However, despite ticking all the boxes for the Chiefs job, Mnqithi's agent Mike Makaab says there has been no formal offer from Amakhosi for his client's services.
"I can tell you as I'm sitting here, we have not had a formula approach from Kaizer Chiefs for Manqoba. I don't think the onus should sit on us to make that approach. You know, it's a different story if we were introducing a football coach that is not not known or not well-known to clubs in this country. But I don't think we should be making a formal move. Unless there is interest, genuine interest from the club itself not through the media," he told Gagasi FM.
"There's been no formula approach. It's what the media tells me that the supporters would love him, but a lot of rumours are circulating in the media regarding who's going to be the next coach of Kaizer Chiefs. You know the name of Manqoba has been thrown around now for far too long and I think we should let the story unfold the way it's going to unfold," he said.
