With Kaizer Chiefs striker Mduduzi Shabalala jetting off for an assessment in Belgium, questions have been raised over the player's scheduled trial with Spanish giants, FC Barcelona.
The Siya crew reported back in January that Shabalala was due to undergo an assessment with Barca at the end of the season, a trip that was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to publishing the story on Tuesday morning, the Siya crew reached out to Chiefs for a right of reply; however, the club did not respond to the crew, but later posted the news of Shabalala's departure on their own platforms.
Now, well-placed Siya sources have informed the crew that the door for Shabalala to make his way to Barca is not closed!
Siya sources have informed the crew that Shabalala will still make his way to the Catalan giants at a later stage, after being selected by a technical study group for a LaLiga development experience, which would see him get the opportunity to observe the football life in Spain.
This came after the young striker was crowned the COSAFA Under-17 Player of the Tournament in 2020.
Shabalala is set to spend two weeks with the Belgium second division champions.
