Yagan Sasman penned a three-year deal with the Glamour Boys back in July after they learned that he was available as a free transfer, with the versatile defender becoming their fifth and final signing of the season.
Now, having missed the early part of the season due a suspension that carried over from his time at Ajax Cape Town, the 23-year-old is slowly working his way into Ernst Middendorp's plans, and it appears that his new head coach has plans to use him in a different position to the one that fans may have seen him in.
Sasman has regularly been utilised as a left-back over the course of his career so far, though Middendorp has revealed that he thinks his 'rightful position' is on the left side of central defence.
The former Urban Warrior had some work to do in order to persuade the German and his assistant, Shaun Bartlett, that he was the right man for the job though, as he explained to the media this week.
Sasman said at Chiefs' media day on Wednesday, "Basically, Coach Shaun and coach Ernst didn't know me at all, so within that period I basically had to prove myself and secure my spot in the team.
"Well, they obviously followed me and watched a few games of mine in the PSL – I had some video footage on YouTube and things, and they were impressed.

"I also sent some videos to them before coming on the trial, so, yeah, they were happy, and I needed to come and prove myself and express my football abilities here."
Sasman will be hoping to get another start under his belt on Saturday afternoon when he returns back to his hometown for a Telkom Knockout clash with Cape Town City.
