After initially breaking the story on the contract impasse between Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder Njabulo Blom, Soccer Laduma has unpacked the latest developments.
Blom has a contract at Chiefs that runs out in June next year and as a result he will be free to sign a pre-contract with a club of his choice in the January transfer window.
As reported in edition 1302 of the publication, the Glamour Boys resigned themselves to losing Blom after their meeting with his parents was unsuccessful.

The 22-year old's agent, Rob Moore, has been adamant on various public platforms, that Amakhosi have to meet their own valuation of the player, if they want his client to sign a contract extension.
According to Siya sources, Chiefs have had a change of heart and went back to the negotiations table with an improved offer.
As stated in the latest edition of the newspaper, the two parties have agreed to sign a new contract in principle, bringing to an end protracted negotiations.
The Siya crew has been informed that Chiefs, in their latest offer, value Blom at R11 million.
Although the finer details of the contract were not immediately made available by sources close to the deal, Soccer Laduma has been led to believe that the agreement that is in place is a multi-million rand contract.
Blom is set to earn well over one million rands per annum, if he officially agrees to a new proposal by the Soweto giants.
The Siya crew understands that the top earners at Chiefs take home over R4 million per annum and after Moore's stance that his client's earnings does not correlate with his value, he will ensure that Blom's figures are in and around that bracket.
A potential significant increase in Blom's package could have knock-on effects on whether Amakhosi keep some of the other stars, whose contracts are coming to an end when the current season concludes.
Star forward Khama Billiat, in particular, has a contract that is up for renewal in the winter and as one of the big earners at the Glamour Boys, who is struggling for form, he could be sacrificed.
To mark the beginning of another rebuilding period, Chiefs parted ways with some big earners in the off-season, including Samir Nurkovic, who was reportedly on a big package and not delivering on the field, especially after his injury.
Billiat has also not been the same since recovering from injury, as he is yet to score this season in 11 official appearances in all competitions.
