Motaung says the aim of the club is also to promote sport in the city, through football.
"We believe in long-term agreements; and being in Polokwane for three years means we will be working with the municipality to achieve our goals or promoting sport, particularly football in the city," Motaung said via the club's official website.
Polokwane City Manager, Thuso Nemugumoni says having Chiefs in town will go a long way in boosting the tourism and the local economy.
"Having Kaizer Chiefs to Polokwane is a strategic move as we know the economic impact it will have on the city," the City Manager said via Chiefs' official website.
"We know the games will boost tourism with many people traveling to Polokwane. We also know that jobs will be created, with small businesses standing to benefit from this."
Nemugumoni also confirmed that they have a partnership agreement with Chiefs for three years and they are looking forward to hosting them.

The Polokwane Municipality will be also be looking to recoup some of the losses they have made after Marumo Gallants, who normally play their home games at the Old and New Peter Mokaba Stadiums, recently took their home league match against Chiefs, scheduled for 11 September, to Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
The Polokwane Municipality took Bahlabane Ba Ntwa to court, seeking to interdict the match but the scheduled game between Gallants and Amakhosi went ahead in Phokeng after the Limpopo High Court Judge Gerrit Muller dismissed the Municipality's case, on the grounds that they failed to prove that the native club was in breach of contract.
