Legendary former goalkeeper Joseph 'Banks' Setlhodi has questioned whether Kaizer Chiefs have the right man to train goalkeepers in Aubrey Mathibe.
In a surprise move towards the end of last season, Chiefs appointed Mathibe as the goalkeeper coach as the club was preparing for life after Lee Baxter who went on to part ways with the club at the end of the season.

From having been a keeper for Amakhosi though he did play regularly, Mathibe went on to have spells with Black Leopards and Moroka Swallows as a goalkeeper coach before returning to Amakhosi.
Before the start of the current season, Chiefs re-appointed legendary German goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker as a strategic adviser in the goalkeeping department, while Mathibe continued in the role as the trainer of the keepers.

"Aubrey Mathibe was a second choice goalkeeper to Itumeleng Khune at Kaizer Chiefs. They were both competing for a position at Chiefs at one stage. He went to Swallows but he is now a goalkeeper coach for Chiefs. I wonder how much does he know for that department. That department is so precious for a team. No team can conquer without having that department right. That department is the hope of the hopeless other 10 players on the pitch. When a team is not doing well, the first position to help in preventing further damage is goalkeeping," said Setlhodi, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.
"For example, Brian Baloyi used to frustrate teams even when the team (Chiefs) was not doing well. When the chips were down, he used to show his class. He proved himself," he said.
