Former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Gustavo Paez, has revealed why he rejected a move to Mamelodi Sundowns when he had an opportunity to join the club.
In 2017, as the negotiations for Leonardo Castro to make the move from Sundowns to Chiefs were taking place, the Venezuelan striker's name came up as the parties discussed a swap deal.
However, the swap deal failed to materilise as only Castro made the switch from Chloorkop to Naturena in January 2018, and Paez has explained why he decided against going to the Brazilians.
"About Sundowns, it was when Castro started the negotiations with Kaizer Chiefs. They asked for a swap, but I would never have left Kaizer Chiefs in my first year. I was very happy in Naturena," the 30-year-old told the Siya crew.
Paez is currently in Venezuela where he has been reviving his career with Mineros before the COVID-19 disrupted their season.
