Having had his stay at Kaizer Chiefs extended, Siphelele 'Stash' Ntshangase has been encouraged to work harder to improve his chances of playing in coach Ernst Middendorp's team.
Despite his lack of regular game time – as he is yet to play an official match this season – the midfielder has had his stay at the Soweto giants extended after Chiefs took the one-year option they had in his deal.
Speaking to the Siya crew, ex-Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has encouraged the 27-year-old former Black Leopards and Baroka FC star to work harder in training.
"Ntshangase is now experienced as he has already been at Black Leopards and Baroka, and at one stage he was a Bafana Bafana player. There was a time it was reported that he was being chased by Sundowns, Pirates and Chiefs. Chiefs won the race because he also likes the club," said Khanye.
"My biggest problem with Ntshangase is his work-rate and I feel that if he could work on it he could become a better player for Chiefs. All that he needs to do is to raise his hand and show that he wants to play. As a play-maker he has to have self-belief and play with confidence. I think he's had his stay at the club extended because George (Maluleka) left, so I am happy for him. Another thing that he should work on in his game is to get into the box more often and try to score goals and defend when the team is defending," said Khanye.
