Kaizer Chiefs extended their winless run in the DStv Premiership to six matches after dropping points against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Chiefs made two changes from their loss against SuperSport United, as shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune was dropped to the bench at the expense of Daniel Akpeyi recalled while Ramahlwe Mphahlele replaced the suspended Philani Zulu.
Amakhosi were on the front foot in the early stages as Anthony Akumu opened the scoring the ninth minute with a free header from close range after a cross by Khama Billiat from a short corner.
Billiat came very close to doubling the lead for Gavin Hunt's charges in the 22nd minute with a curling strike that missed the top corner by a whisker after cutting inside the box from the right channel.
While Celtic struggled to carve out chances, Njabulo Blom had a chance to make it 2-0 for the hosts nine minutes before the break after going through on the right side of the box but his low shot towards was saved by goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane.
Leonardo Castro came close to doubling their lead just before the hour-mark with a first-time strike that missed the bottom corner by a whisker after a long free-kick by Billiat towards the far post.
Eric Mathoho almost conceded an own goal for Chiefs in the 65th minute after deflecting Victor Letsoalo's header towards the bottom corner inside the box but Akpeyi saved his blushes with a good save.
However, John Maduka's troops eventually levelled matters two minutes later after Tumelo Mangweni beat the offside trap to go through one-on-one with Akpeyi inside the box from Ryan De Jongh's chip over the defence and fired a volley into the far post.
Menzi Ndwandwe had a chance to snatch the winner for Siwelele in the last ten minutes after latching onto a pass on his run inside the box but low low shot was smothered by Akpeyi.
The flow of the game slowed down in the dying minutes, with neither side having the momentum and in the end the spoils were shared the spoils as Chiefs' struggles in the league continued.
