Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has revealed the most painful moment in his career which he felt has contributed to his current form.
Ngcobo made an impressive debut for Amakhosi in March 2019 against Maritzburg United.
His performance was derailed due to an Achilles injury, with the player spending seven months on the sidelines and missing Under-20 FIFA World Cup in Poland.
Speaking to media during the SA Under-23 camp in Durban, the 21-year-old says missing out on that World Cup was the most painful experience, and he has refocused on the Tokyo Olympics.
"It was very painful to miss out on that tournament but that is football, it comes with injuries and when you come from those setbacks you become better because you learn a lot from them," Ngcobo explains.
"I'm very happy to be back in the national team after struggling with injuries that kept me out of both my teams and the squad, I think I've improved and i need to keep working hard to make sure i go to the Olympics."
The young midfielder has highlighted the importance of the CAF Champions League games with Chiefs, ahead of their must-win Group C game against Wydad Casablanca.
"I think we still have an opportunity to do well, so it is an important game for us to do well, to move to the next round," he added.
