Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has explained why Yusuf Maart was deployed at right-back instead of brining on another defender.
The Soweto giants had an evening to forget after losing 5-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns, who were officially crowned DStv Premiership champions.
Chiefs were dealt a blow in the 19th minute defender Given Msimango was shown a straight red card for a professional foul.

Instead of bringing on Njabulo Ngcobo or Happy Mashiane, who have both played at full-back, Johnson opted to use Maart in the right-back position, a decision which did not pay off in the second half.
"We thought he had done well, in all the moments after that, before half-time I thought he did very well," Johnson told SuperSport.
"Our back-four was very solid, except that later in the second-half they started dropping and that was the wrong thing to do because we were forcing them to go forward.
"They didn't go forward but we have to live to work another day."
The Chiefs interim coach says they have to finish in the top eight heading into the final three matches.
"We have to play for that, Chiefs have to play for that. They know we have to play for that," hea dded.
"We have to get there. It's one of the things we have to maintain in order to start the following season on a high note."
