Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi will have an interesting start to the Betway Premiership, with his first five matches including defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and a CAF Confederation Cup participant.
The season will first start with the MTN8 on August 3 and will run throughout the month until the semi-finals, before the Premiership kicks off on September 14.

Amakhosi will not take part in the MTN8 after finishing 10th in the league last season, so Nabi will have over a month to work with the team, as well as new players, to ensure the Soweto giants are ready for the new campaign. This means Amakhosi won't be disadvantaged after Nabi's late arrival at the club when the South Africans had to wait for him to first participate in the Moroccan cup final with AS FAR Rabat earlier this month.
Chiefs' journey in the new campaign will start in Bloemfontein, facing Marumo Gallants at Toyota Stadium on September 14. Nabi is no stranger to coming up against Gallants, he faced them when he was coach of Young Africans in the semi-finals of the 2022/23 Confederation Cup.
Chiefs are set to play against Young Africans at Toyota Stadium this weekend, in the Toyota Cup, which will give Nabi an idea of what to expect when they face Gallants on the opening weekend of the Premiership season.
Amakhosi will host their first game of the season at FNB Stadium, against the hard-running Confederation Cup participants Stellenbosch FC on September 22.

They will be on the road again in their third match of the season, when they visit AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium three days later. The big one will be on September 28, when Nabi gets his first opportunity to come up against defending champions Sundowns at FNB Stadium.
Sundowns' rivals, SuperSport United, will be Amakhosi's fifth opponent this season, at Lucas Moripe Stadium on October 26.
Stellenbosch, Sundowns and SuperSport will get to play in the MTN8 this month, so they will have some competitive action under their belts, unlike Chiefs who will be relying on playing friendly matches.
