The story
Queens Park Rangers and SA under-20 defender Tylon Smith experienced his first live English Premier League match over the weekend since relocating to the UK in July.
The Amajita star attended Sunday's clash between reigning FA Cup champions Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest at Selhurst Park in South London, sharing snapshots of his outing on Instagram.
While the game ended in a 1-1 draw, Smith's day out was still memorable — he later revealed that he unknowingly walked past Ivorian football icon Yaya Touré, only realising afterwards that he had brushed shoulders with the Manchester City legend.
Smith's Sunday trip to Selhurst Park was the perfect way for the former Stellenbosch FC baller to put QPR’s hefty 7-1 loss to Coventry City on Saturday in the English Championship behind him.
Smith has made just one appearance for QPR's senior team since making the switch to London and was not included in the squad for the above-mentioned loss over the weekend.
Take a look at Smith's post below, with the second slide showing a glimpse of what looks to be Yaya Touré walking past the youngster to get to his seat:
