The PSL s South American Contingency

The PSL s South American Contingency

Leonardo Castro

The Absa Premiership has seen a number of South Americans head to Mzansi over the years, but this season, it's the most it has ever been, but who is your favourite? Let's take a look!

Leonardo Castro touched down in South Africa back in 2015, where he landed up setting the stage alight alongside Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly at Mamelodi Sundowns.

His arrival seemingly kick started a new trend for South Americans in the Absa Premiership, and subsequently, a few more players from Latin America arrived.

Sundowns then went shopping in Brazil and secured the services of Ricardo Nascimento to beef up their defence, before Kaizer Chiefs headed over to Venezuela to capture the signature of Gustavo Paez in January 2017.

It hasn't stopped there though... After palming off Castro to Chiefs, the Brazilians landed up heading over to Uruguay where they secured the services of Gaston Sirino.

The 26-year-old impressed when he came on against Cape Town All Stars in the Nedbank Cup, leaving many excited to see what he can produce in the future for his new club.

Each South American brings something different to the team, but who is your favourite out of the Latino quartet? Let us know.
