TBT: Thabang Monare
Fresh off winning yet another MTN8 crown with Orlando Pirates, experienced midfielder Thabang Monare has come a long way in his career.
From his successes at Bidvest Wits to being a consistent baller for the Buccaneers since 2020, it's easy to forget where Monare started his career.
"Desh" played for TUKS from 2009 until 2011 and a picture of him in 2010 was shared on IG.
The 34-year-old must have been around 21 when that portrait was taken, with mohawk, gold tooth and flashy earrings to complete a very era-appropriate look for Monare.

Since that pic was taken, Monare went on to represent Jomo Cosmos, the now defunct Bidvest Wits and the Sea Robbers, winning a league title, Telkom Knockout and a couple of MTN8 crowns with his current side.
He's also managed four caps for Bafana Bafana, facing the likes of N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba when Hugo Broos' boys came up against the French in March last year, going down 5-0.
