The story
Former Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Siyabonga Ngezana is expected to make a late arrival to the Bafana Bafana camp ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The FCSB defender reportedly landed in Johannesburg this morning after flying business class from Istanbul to OR Tambo International Airport.
Upon arrival, he is expected to join the national team for their training sessions at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto. Ngezana shared highlights of his journey on Instagram, posting a photo dump that included a flight map tracing his route to South Africa.
Take a look:
Despite having fewer than 10 international caps, Ngezana is set to play a key role in the centre of defence for Bafana Bafana. The national team faces crucial qualifiers against Lesotho on Friday, 6 September at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, and Nigeria on Tuesday, 9 September at the Toyota Stadium in the City of Roses.
With South Africa currently leading Group C in the World Cup qualifiers with 13 points from six matches, Ngezana's experience and form will be vital as the team looks to maintain their position at the top.
