SA Ambassador To Turkiye Visits Chiefs Camp

The Kaizer Chiefs camp received a special visit from a South African politician on their pre-season tour in Turkiye.

The story

With the Kaizer Chiefs players currently being put through their paces on their pre-season camp in Türkiye, the team received a visit from a South African politician at their team hotel.

The South African Ambassador to Turkey, Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba, paid a curtesy visit to the Chiefs camp and was warmly welcomed by Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

Last week Tuesday, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, visited the Embassy of Türkiye in Pretoria to meet the Turkish Ambassador to South Africa, Aysegul Kandas.

The meeting not only celebrated the successful start of the Club's pre-season camp in Türkiye (their first overseas pre-season tour since 2003), but it also to help strengthen football ties between the country and the Soweto giants.

Ambassador Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba's meeting with Amakhosi further illustrates the growing relations between Türkiye, Chiefs and South Africa as a country.

"I'm delighted to welcome Her Excellency to our training camp. Her visit is a testament to the strong relations between South Africa and Turkey, and we're honored to be a part of it," said Motaung Jr on Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba's visit.

In a press release shared by the club on social media, Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba revealed how pleased see was to see the team training in Türkiye, highlighting the positive relations between the transcontinental nation and South Africa.

"I'm thrilled to see Kaizer Chiefs here in Turkey, a country with which South Africa has a long history of friendship and cooperation. This visit is a great opportunity to strengthen our ties and promote cultural exchange between our nations," said the Ambassador.

The press release also mentioned that Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba attended on of their pre-season training matches, which forms part of their preparations for the start of the new season next month.

"This visit is a great example of the strong bonds between our countries. We look forward to continuing our cooperation and promoting mutual understanding through sports and culture," added Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba.
