The story
Nigeria's Super Eagles arrived in Bloemfontein on Sunday evening to a warm reception, as anticipation builds for Tuesday's crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Bafana Bafana.
As stated by the Nigerian Football Federation, the Super Eagles were warmly received by Nigeria's High Commissioner to South Africa, Tope Ajayi, presidential aide Sir Adeyinka Adeboye, top officials from the Nigeria's National Sports Commission, and enthusiastic members of the Nigerian community based in South Africa.
The team, led by NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau, included dignitaries, former players Nwankwo Kanu and Victor Ikpeba, and 22 squad members — excluding injured forward Victor Osimhen, who reportedly injured his shin in their 1-0 win over Rwanda on Saturday.
Nigeria will be desperate to grab all three points against the in-form, Group C leaders, Bafana Bafana, who boast a six-point lead over their visitors ahead of Tuesday night's encounter.
