The Brazilian forward, who scored 37 goals and provided 23 assists in 88 matches, was a key figure in Sundowns’ domestic dominance and continental campaigns. His departure marks the end of a chapter filled with flair, trophies, and unforgettable moments, though his next destination remains unknown.

“From the very first day I arrived, I gave my all, on and off the field, to earn my place and proudly defend Mamelodi Sundowns,” Ribeiro wrote.

“These past two years have been incredible, full of emotions. I have learned so much from this beautiful culture, not only to become a better player, but also a better human being.”

Ribeiro’s impact extended beyond the pitch. His connection with the fans, his humility, and his professionalism made him one of the most beloved foreign imports in recent PSL history.

“To my wonderful Masandawana supporters, first of all, thank you for everything. I want you to know that your support and love meant so much to me, and I will never forget you. I will always carry in my heart the memories of the emotions I lived, the goals, the assists, the trophies, and the magical nights with you that made me feel at home.”

The timing of his exit comes amid ongoing speculation about a contract dispute and reported interest from clubs in Qatar and Europe, though no official confirmation has been made regarding his next move.

Sundowns, who are still navigating the fallout of Ribeiro’s intended departure, have yet to issue a formal farewell. Legal discussions around his contract termination have reportedly surfaced, with those reports suggesting the club may escalate the matter to FIFA.
