Buthelezi breaks silence

Former TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi seemed in good spirits on his Instagram post that was shared on Monday.

Buthelezi was snapped by Bucs teammate Thabiso Sesane, alongside his silver Volkswagen POLO TSI, wearing a off white short sleeved button-up shirt, with navy cargo pants and PUMA Slipstream sneakers.

One of his followers commented: "I'm happy you're alive Melusi after what happened to you. To God be the glory," with teammate Phillip Ndlondlo also showing Buthelezi love in the comment section.

Take a look:

Buthelezi was the victim of a hijacking and kidnapping on Thursday evening was reportedly taken at about 8:40pm in Thokoza, Ekurhuleni.

A police spokesperson revealed to TimesLive that Buthelezi was "sitting with his friends on the street when three unknown men approached them."

"The suspects robbed all victims of their cellphones before forcefully taking one of the victims and driving off with his vehicle," revealed the police spokesperson, with Buthelezi being returned unharmed on Friday morning.

Buthelezi had his grey VW Taigo hijacked and unfortunately for the 25-year-old shot-stopper, this is the second time he's impacted by this level of crime.

In 2022, Buthelezi was stabbed during a hijacking in Soweto, where the star and his brother were stabbed after visiting their mother.

Pirates' media officer Thandi Merafe requested for Buthelezi to be given space to recover: "The player is safe and unscathed. We are happy that he is safe and unharmed, as a club, we kindly request that Melusi be given space to recover from this traumatic ordeal," she told the Siya Crew on Friday.
