The story
Mbabane Highlanders AM FC president Shauwn Mkhize is bringing a unique blend of football and luxury travel to Eswatini through the upcoming "Mam'Mkhize Weekend Experience."
Set to take place from 19–21 August in Mbabane, Eswatini's most populous city, the event is positioned as more than just a football outing — it's being billed as a celebration of "unity, pride, and lifestyle."
As shared on her Instagram, Mkhize's vision is to offer fans an elevated experience that merges travel, entertainment, and sport in a high-end package.
The weekend experience includes several travel and hospitality options, all of which come with a return flight to Eswatini, match tickets, and access to the after-party with a meal included.
Prices vary depending on the package: the 'Road Package' is priced at R6,500, while the individual 'Silver' and 'Gold' packages are listed at R11,600 and R14,210, respectively.
For couples, the Silver package costs R20,220, and the Gold option is R24,460, with the main difference being the level of accommodation provided. Through this project, Mkhize is seemingly hoping to turn a football fixture in Eswatini into a premium lifestyle getaway.
This travel football matchday experience is just one of the few changes the Durban-based businesswoman has introduced to the club since being confirmed as Mbabane Highlanders president last month.
Among the changes, MaMkhize changed the club's logo and name to feature the letters "AM", the initials of her son, Andile Mpisane.
