The story
Despite succumbing to defeat in the CAF Champions League final on Sunday, Masandawana's players, coaches, staff and chairman were well received by the Ka Bo Yellow nation at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon.
Mamelodi Sundowns were denied a second CAF Champions League title after they lost 2-1 (3-2 on aggregate) to Pyramids FC in the second leg of the final, played at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday evening.
The team was welcomed by scores of Sundowns fans donning the club's yellow and passionately singing gwijo songs as the players shook hands with supporters outside the international arrivals at the airport.
Club chairman Thlopie Motsepe addressed the supporters, where he thanked them for their undying support for the club and assured them that the team did its best to try and claim the club's second continental crown.
