The story
Mamelodi Sundowns' men's and ladies players got to see the Oracle Red Bull Racing RB7 in full low at Sunday's Red Bull Showrun, hosted in north Johannesburg.
20 000 fans gathered on Katherine Street in Sandton, which was transformed into a roaring motorsport arena, to the RB7 being driven by British motorsport legend, David Coulthard.
The thrill of roaring engines, gravity-defying stunts, and a blend of speed and showmanship left Bafana Bafana and Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala, along with Sundowns Ladies midfielder Lehlogonolo Mashigo, in awe.
"Seeing the Red Bull car on the track was a very wonderful experience for me. I didn't know it was that fast because I only see it on TV, but seeing it on the track? With that high speed? I tried to capture it on my phone, in a video, but it was too fast for me," reflected Mvala.
"The car is beautiful, the speed? Wow, I don't want to lie. Red Bull pulled through here," noted Mashigo, who also goes by her artist name, Hlogi Mash.
Sundowns ballers Thembinkosi Lorch, Thapelo Maseko, and Tashreeq Matthews also made an appearance and seemed to enjoy the event's second offering, Spinning.
