The story

Leeds United cult hero and former captain, Lucas Radebe, has cemented his legacy further at the English club, two decades after retiring from football. 

With Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear announcing on Tuesday that Lucas Radebe is their first Global Ambassador on the Marawa Sport Worldwide Show, we examine why 'Rhoo' is the perfect fit for this role.

Having made over 260 appearances for Leeds, 'The Chief' is one of the club's most successful imports. He played a significant role during the club's more stable years in the Premier League, which included qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

At 55 years old, Radebe continues to be a sought-after figure for major brands, with his appeal only growing over time. 

He has held ambassadorial roles with notable organisations such as the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Lays, Heineken, Huawei SA, Discovery, Volkswagen SA, Vodacom, Jungle South Africa, Galito's, and Betway. 

This shows that Radebe knows how to represent an entity effectively, bolstered by his wholesome personal brand, which has been further enhanced by his viral TikTok moments with his family.
