With Luis Suarez's excellent bicycle kick against Levante becoming a major talking point over the weekend, the Fan Park crew has decided to review some of the best overhead kicks we've seen.
Wayne Rooney – Manchester United Vs Manchester City
Apart from the English forward's perfect technique in the strike, it was the occasion that made this goal extra special. It was the winner against rivals, Manchester City, who were on the way to becoming an English powerhouse. The ball came in from Nani and the end result stunned the stadium as Rooney acrobatically thumped his shot into the top corner. The goal was also voted Premier League Goal of the Decade!
Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Sweden Vs England
We know Zlatan's talent, as we've seen it on numerous occasions, but this goal was something we wouldn't expect to see from a six-foot-five giant. Joe Hart's soft headed clearance allowed the Swede to launch himself in to the air from 30-yards out and score arguably one of the best overhead kicks we've ever seen!
Marco Van Basten – Ajax Vs FC Den Bosch
The Dutchman's overhead kick in 1984 is still one of the most recognisable overhead kicks we've seen. The ball struck the inside of the poll of Den Bosch's goals in the Dutch Eredivisie, and was one of many Marco van Basten's spectaculars.
Falcao – Atletico Madrid Vs America De Cali
The Colombian hitman reacted first to a corner kick from his Atletico Madrid teammate by executing a sublime overhead volley from just inside the area.
Ronaldinho – Barcelona Vs Villarreal
In 2006, Ronaldinho scored one of his most spectacular goals for Barca, against Villarreal in a 4-0 win. The Brazilian peeled off his marker and controlled the ball from Xavi on his chest, before readjusting his body to execute a magnificent overhead finish.
