Result Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 SuperSport United

Date: 14 January 2017

Venue: Sinaba Stadium

Mamelodi Sundowns moved five points clear at the top of the MDC table, after cruising to a 3-0 win over SuperSport United.

The Brazilians broke the deadlock after 11 minute as Katlego Ntsabeleng side-footed home from close range, after some fine build-up play.

SuperSport saw quite a bit of the ball as the first half went on, but they struggled to carve out chances and were restricted to efforts from distance.

However, Sundowns doubled their advantage in the 38th minute as Keletso Makgalwa broke through on goal, before calmly slotting under Mondli Poto.

It proved to be a quiet opening 45 minutes for Sundowns goalkeeper, Abram Ngcobo as SuperSport failed to mount any serious attempts at goal.

The Brazilians made it 3-0 shortly after the break, as Makgalwa latched onto a long pass before slotting past Mpoto from a tight angle.

With Sundowns comfortably leading, David Notoane introduced Motoro Monyai for Flavio Bento after 65 minutes.

Much like the first half, SuperSport struggled cause any serious threat to Sundowns defence, even with the introduction of Fagrie Lakay.

Notoane's charges managed to see out the closing stages with relative ease to claim the win, as they move five points clear at the top.

Here's how they lined up:

Sundowns: Ngcobo, Sambo, Madisha, Dhladhla, Mdluli, Ntsabeleng, Khumalo, Bento, Ntlaba, Makgalwa, Masyia.

SuperSport: Mpoto, Rensburg, Makhele, Ismail, Noge, Mbule, Dlala, Rachoene, K.Mayo, Mtshweni, Mayo.
