Previous reports revealed that the Frenchman's lawyers were in talks with his former side over an alleged €55 million (R1.1 billion) in unpaid wages.
According to ESPN, the 26-year-old had accused the club in a legal filing last week and opened up an investigation. However, a source close to the French captain revealed that Mbappe had decided to end the legal proceedings to reconcile with his former team.
The source revealed that the end of the criminal procedure did not spell the end of the ongoing procedure with the tribunal proceedings.
Real Madrid's number 9 had first accused his former team of moral harassment and claimed he was disappointed with the way the club treated him when they sidelined him ahead of the 2023/24 Ligue 1 season.
After telling the club he would not extend his contract beyond 2024, Mbappé was left off a preseason tour to Japan and South Korea and forced to train with fringe players.
