The club did announce after the game that forward had been transferred to a hospital for further evaluation.

It has now been confirmed that Ashour suffered a broken collarbone and will miss the rest of the tournament.

"The sporting director was present, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Gaballah, the team's doctor, to monitor the player's condition and check on the tests he underwent, which confirmed he had suffered a broken collarbone and would miss the rest of the team's matches in the Club World Cup.

"Captain Mohamed Youssef, Imam Ashour's sporting director, conveyed the support of the club's board of directors, headed by Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, and the technical staff, led by Jose Ribeiro and his fellow players, affirming everyone's support for him during this phase."

Al Ahly will be back in action on Thursday against Brazilian outfit Palmeiras.
