Chippa United have confirmed a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with a total of 18 players set to leave the club, including seasoned campaigners like Andile Jali and Justice Chabalala.

The Eastern Cape-based side, known for its bold decisions, has wasted no time in making changes after the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.

The player departures follow recent backroom adjustments, including the exit of head coach Thabo September, the appointment of Sinethemba Badela as his replacement, and the addition of Sinesipho Mali as the club’s new Sporting Director.

In a statement signed off by Mali, Chippa confirmed that the following players will not be part of the club's plans going forward: Darren Johnson, Lukhanyo July, Justice Chabalala, Samkelo Jali, Andile Jali, Baraka Majogoro, Athenkosi Dlala, Ronald Sanou, Craig Martin, Ronald Maarman, Thobani Jacobs, Sifiso Mazibuko, Aviwe Mqokozo, Enock Sakala and Bienvenu Eva Nga, while Aphelele Teto, Siphelo Baloni, and Sonwabile Khumalo who have been on loan will return to their parent clubs following the end of their respective loan deals.

"We extend our sincere gratitude to each of them for their service and commitment during their time at the club. Their contributions, both on and off the field, are appreciated and respected," the club noted.

The Chilli Boys are clearly setting the stage for a new chapter, with expectations high that more signings and structural changes are still to come before the new season kicks off.
