CONFIRMED: City Say Goodbye To Tinkler

CONFIRMED: City Say Goodbye To Tinkler

Cape Town City have made a big decision regarding the future of head coach Eric Tinkler.

After losing 1-0 at home to AmaZulu over the weekend, the Citizens have confirmed that the former Bafana Bafana midfielder will no longer be their coach.

Tinkler was in charge of the Citizens for close on three-and-a-half seasons, but things have been difficult for the club this season, with inconsistent results.

After going into the market to bring in players such as Kamohelo Mokotjo, Fortune Makaringe and Haashim Domingo, a lot was expected of Tinkler this season, with the club determined to be competitive. Things, however, did not work out according to plan, as City currently find themselves sitting in 12th place.

In the 10 matches City have played this season, they have registered just three victories and have five defeats. They've scored just six times, showing just how much they miss the presence of Khanyisa Mayo upfront, the striker who made a move to Algeria before the start of this season.
