Confederation Cup Report: SuperSport United v El Ahly Shendi 19 March 2017

Result: SuperSport United 4-0 El Ahly Shendi  (6-3 on aggregate)

SuperSport United advanced to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after thumping Al Ahly Shendi 4-0 in the second leg.

Ronwen Williams was called into action inside the first minute, before Thabo Mnyamane volleyed wide from close range in the seventh minute.

Stuart Baxter's charges went close to breaking the deadlock after 20 minutes, but Tefu Mashamaite was denied by the Shendi goalkeeper.

SuperSport were the dealt a blow in the 30th minute, when Reneilwe Letsholonynae went off with an injury. He was replaced Teboho Mokoena.

However, the hosts broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, as Mashamaite rose well to head home Mnyamane's free-kick.

SuperSport's lead was doubled on the stroke of halftime, courtesy of an own goal from Abaker to put SuperSport 4-3 up on aggregate.

Baxter's charges extended their lead shortly after the break, as Kingston Nkhatha got on the score-sheet after being played in by Mokoena.

The hosts were dealt another injury blow after 65 minutes as Nkhatha was forced off. He was replaced by Aubrey Modiba.

SuperSport pushed for more goals and eventually bagged a fourth in the 82nd minute as Modiba slotted home from close range after being played in by Brockie.

Baxter's charges won the tie 6-3 on aggregate and join Platinum Stars in the next round.
