Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Opponents: Zamalek SC

Following the draw for the last eight of the CAF Champions League on Tuesday, we look at one of Mamelodi Sundowns' opponents in Egyptian giants Zamalek and why they will be a handful for the Chloorkop outfit.   Read: Pitso Excited By CAF Draw   - Zamalek are one of the oldest and biggest teams on the African continent having been established in 1911.   - Though they do not have their own stadium, they play their home fixtures at Cairo's International Stadium, with their main rivals Al Ahly being their fellow tenants at the same venue, with whom they contest the Cairo derby.   - They are also known as The White Knights and have won the CAF Champions League trophy on five occasions - 1984, 1986, 1993, 1996 and 2002.   - In February 2003 they were voted as the World Best Club Team by the International Federation of Football History Statistics (IFFHS).     - Zamalek are also winners of the Egyptian Premier League on 12 occasions - 1959–60, 1963–64, 1964–65, 1977–78, 1983–84, 1987–88, 1991–92, 1992–93, 2000–01, 2002–03, 2003–04 and 2014–15.   - The team is currently coached by club legend Mohamed Helmy who was installed on an interim basis following the sacking of former Aston Villa and Birmingham City coach Alex McLeish.   - The last time they faced a South African team was in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup group stages when they put six goals past Orlando Pirates (2-1 at Orlando Stadium and 4-1 at Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo).
