A former Mamelodi Sundowns defender has made a bold statement ahead of their clash against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League.
Masandawana will meet the Red Devils of Egypt led by coach Pitso Mosimane, who made a huge impact at the South African champions and according to Phelelani Mpangase, the clash will be won by Al Ahly.
"It is going to be a huge mountain to climb for Mamelodi Sundowns. Yes, they won their first game and did well, but Al Ahly will be going there to win after drawing their opener," Mpangase told the Siya crew.
"I believe they will do extremely well because coach Pitso Mosimane knows all the secrets and corners of the club. He understands the importance of beating Sundowns, obviously he can even lose his job (if he) loses that game."
Despite coming from a draw and wanting to bounce back against Sundowns, Mpangase believes Al Ahly are the more superior side than his former club.
"Al Ahly have high intensity from beginning to end. They are highly tactical and are superior to Sundowns. They have European influence, and are far ahead of us and that is fact, with that, coach Pitso Mosimane will win easily."
The clash is scheduled for 21:00.
