The Amakhosi face a tough task against Raja Casablanca this weekend as they seek to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the CAF Champions League, and 'Tower' believes that they are strong enough to get a result.
Chiefs know that they need to score at least once to have any chance of making it into the next round of the competition, and Mathoho says that they want to go all the way, just like the Buccaneers.
In this week's issue of Soccer Laduma, Mathoho said, "We are strong enough to play in Africa. Everyone who plays there are champions of their country. They would have done very well to reach that stage and represent their country. We are strong enough. One loss doesn't mean you are bad. We have competed there before and have done well as SA teams. We should be proud of that.
"Our time will come! We just have to play our game and not compare ourselves to the other countries in terms of saying they are strong or we are weak. We should continue fighting and one day we will get what we want and reach the finals of the CAF Champions League, just like Pirates did! It's all about hard work, nothing else."
