Zamalek look to have one foot in the CAF Champions League final after thumping Wydad Casablanca 4-0 in the first leg of their semi-final tie.
The Egyptians broke the deadlock after four minutes when Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ran at the defence, before rifling the ball home from 30-yards out.
Zamalek doubled their advantage in the 14th minute as Ayman Hefny profited from defensive error to slot home from close range, 2-0.
Wydad's hopes of a comeback were dashed shortly after the halftime break when Abdel-Razek turned provider to set up Bassin Morsy, who fired home, 3-0.
Zamalek were then awarded a penalty in the 73rd minute when Mostafa Fathi was brought down in the box. The Egyptian forward stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards to round off an impressive victory, 4-0.
The second-leg clash will take place at the Stade de FUS on Saturday, 24 September.
