The South African U20 Women's National Team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Nigeria in the first leg of their U20 Women's World Cup qualifier.
The home side had the first opening of the tie after 11 minutes as Ihezuo headed over from close range.
The Nigerians went close once again in the 23rd minute when Uchendu picked out Ihezuo in the box, however she headed over the crossbar once again.
The hosts eventually broke the deadlock after the 30-minute mark thanks to a strike from the ever-threatening Ihezuo.
Basetsana were dealt a blow a few moments later, as Amanda Mthandi picked up an injury and was replaced by Noma Sierra.
Nigeria nearly doubled their advantage in the 36th minute, when Uchenna Kanu rattled the woodwork with a low effort.
It got worse for the South Africans on the stroke of halftime, as when Uchenna Kanu slotted home to double the home side's lead.
Basetsana were under pressure for most of the game and nearly conceded a third in the 65th minute but they managed to clear an effort off the line.
However, the South Africans did manage to grab away goal in stoppage time, thanks to penalty from Gabriela Salgado.
The return leg is scheduled to take place in South Africa in two week's time.
