Portia Modise Call It A Day As She Retires From Professional Football

Veteran Banyana Banyana striker, Portia Modise has decided to call it day and retire from professional football with immediate effect.

The 31-year-old striker has scored more than a 100 goals for the Women's National Team at international level, making her Banyana's all-time goal scorer.

"Portia Modise has scored more than 100 goals at international level. We are proud of her," said SAFA President Danny Jordaan on the South African Football Association official twitter account.

"This is a special moment. This is one player who knew how to get the ball into the net."

"Her new role will be to guide other players," further confirmed the SAFA President

Modise thanked members of the media from the exposure she has received over the course of her illustrious international career.

"I want to thank the media for giving greater exposure to women football. I'm not lost to SA football," added the Banyana legend.
