Banyana Banyana defender, Janine Van Wyk, was named the 2015 Gauteng Sports Personality of the Year.

The defender has notched up over a 100 caps for the senior women's national side and she expressed her joy via twitter on Sunday evening.
"Thank u to everyone who has supported me in everything i do! This award goes to ALL of u! Couldn't have done it without u! So Blessed," Van Wyk tweeted.
"Im absolutely LOST for words! I can't describe this amazing feeling! All my sacrifices, time efforts paid off! Now to Qualify 4 Olympics."
The Banyana captain was not present at the Gauteng Sports Awards on Sunday evening, as she is in camp with the national side as they prepare for their Olympic Qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.
