Banyana Banyana captain, Janine Van Wyk is confident ahead of Sunday's second leg Olympic Qualifier against Gabon, following the women's senior national team edging the female Panthers 3-2 in their first leg clash played in Libreville.
Banyana shift focus to Olympic Qualifiers
A brace by Jermaine Seoposenwe and a single strike from Sanah Mollo ensured the South Africans have an advantage of three away goals heading into the second leg clash scheduled for Sunday, May 31, at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.
"I'm happy that we came back with a good win from Gabon. Playing in Africa is not easy, so coming back home with a win was a relief to us and it will boost the whole team going into the 2nd leg on Sunday," said Van Wyk on SAFA's official twitter account.
Fellow defender, Noko Matlou believes that playing at home will give them a boost and, shared Van Wyk's sentiments on working on correcting errors they committed in the first match.
"We know the match on Sunday is not going to be easy. They gave us a hard time when we played them in their own backyard, but this time around we are playing in front of our home crowd and we will push hard to get a comfortable win," added Matlou.
